TEACHER EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMES


These are very significant for qualitative improvement and dissemination of information with respect to advanced technology and content clarification. The staff have attended many such enrichment programmes.

Inter disciplinary workshops & brain storming sessions will be held on the Second & Fourth Saturday of the month. Pupils of Classes VIII-XII will have classes on the other Saturdays of the month.

Ms. Nikitaa Karlo and Ms. Sudha Rao attended a one year workshop “WATIS” conducted by Wipro & The Teacher Foundation. They in turn conducted a session on “Strategies for Active Learning” for teachers during May 2007.

Ms. Anusuya L. S., Ms. Priyadarshini C, Mr. Manoj Kumar and Ms. Vanitha M. P. went for basic training Programme on Flock Leaders.

Dr. Ali Khwaja addressed the teachers on interpersonal skills & team building.

Mr. Pramod and Ms. Mary Geraldine attended the workshop conducted by Indian Association for Physics Teachers
Nearly forty experiments based on physics concepts – Optics, Sound, Electricity, Magnetism, Electromagnetism, Wave motion etc were verified using “no cost or low cost materials” like iron nails, ice cream sticks, water bottle, tooth pick, straws, balloons, chart paper etc..

Ms. Nikitaa Karlo and Ms. Deepti G. S. conducted a refresher Programme in Maths Lab Activities.

In order to assist teachers to make use of technology in teaching session on basic of computers & developing Power Point Presentations was held by Ms. Girija Nagraj & Mr. Raghunath D. S. It is mandatory to include a technology input in every unit.

Mr. Venkatesh, Ms. Sunitha Sadashivan & Ms. Suprabha attended a workshop conducted by F.K. Publications on the topic Maths lab activities for primary and middle classes.
