TANTRA

TANTRA 2007,the maiden interschool venture of Sindhi High School ,Hebbal was flagged off on Thursday,4th Oct 2007.This three-day long extravaganza was a unique blend of education and entertainment, challenges and competitions, fun and enlightenment .
The active participation of all the students and complete support extended by the teachers resulted in this mega event being such a success. It witnessed active participation of many schools-an indication that science was indeed a much loved subject; If only it could be presented in a more entertaining way.

Prof. Umapathi of the IISc and Dr.Parker inaugurated this fest. Their words encouragement provided an excellent start to the much awaited event. The importance of science in every possible sphere today was stressed upon. These eminent scientist laid emphasis on looking at it in the right sprit and appreciating its vast extent. They also convinced us about the urgent need for young blood in this field. Finally, they hailed this event as a great attempt to bring science to students in a new and creative way.

It was evident that TANTRA was a science fest with a difference; it had succeeded in presenting science in enjoyable manner and showcasing it in a piquant light. Education and learning had been encapsulated with entertainment to draw more people towards it. By adding innovative games and events, many young minds were forced to think out of the box, busting the myth of science being drudgery.

Adding non-academic events too helped greatly in making this celebration more enjoyable. Learning had been made more presentable and appealing; intriguing rather than boring.Indeed, many events had the participants spellbound
