Sindhi Seva School - Sindhi High School, Hebbal

An extremely thoughtful, philanthropic venture - a pilot project undertaken by Sindhi Seva Samiti, The Sindhi Seva School was inaugurated at 5.30 p.m. on 14.11.2007 at a grand function organized at Sindhi Seva Samiti Auditorium, Hebbal Kempapura.

Sree Kumar G Nail, Commissioner of Public Instruction, Govt. of Karnataka was the Chief Guest. A huge gathering of parents of the students of Sindhi Educational Institutions graced the function. Sree Prakash F Madwani, President, Sindhi College Management Committee welcomed the gathering. Sri Rajkumar Kukreja elaborated the aims of the innovative project and said that the School imparts quality education to the economically unprivileged children at no cost. Students are prepared to appear for the class 10th examination of the National Open School scheme (English Medium) in the shortest possible period of time. the school provides literacy opportunities for working children, school dropouts as well as the first time entrants.

Sree Kukreje observed that providing the children with vocational training after basic literacy is also under the active consideration of Sindhi Seva Samiti at the subsequent stages of the ambitious project. Education at Sindhi School is absolutely free. Besides, students will be provided with books, uniforms and shoes and snacks at no cost. It works from 3.00pm to 7.00pm to facilitate working children to attend the school. The school is making a start with a strength of 5000 in its own building which will soon come up, he said.

Sri Kumar G. Naik in his address lauded the efforts of Sindhi Seva Samiti towards the propagation of education and said that he was deeply impressed by the project. He was appreciative of the new ideas and concepts envisaged so clearly in the project. He refered to the vicious circle of poverty and the virtuous circle of aggressive input of HRD and expressed the happiness that the Samiti has clubbed the noble circle of compassion with them. He felt sure the circle of compassion would widen in the times to come. He distributed bags of books and writing material to the children.

Mrs. Mahalakshmi Vijaychand, Chief Executive Sindhi group of Educational Institutions proposed a Vote of Thanks.
